In the village of Vardablur, Lori, Hayarpi welcomes guests to "Biography" Guest House with a signature honey drink - the establishment's unique calling card. The guest house features distinctive beehive-shaped cottages where rural tourism enthusiasts can reconnect with nature, enjoy honey tastings, and even take part in the honey extraction process.
Biography Guest House is a beneficiary of the "Rural Tourism Development" program, a joint project by ACBA Federation and the German Nature Protection Union (NABU Armenia). Through the provided grant, the guest house has implemented specialized eco-solutions, enabling the filtration of all wastewater to ensure zero environmental impact.
"By founding this guest house, we aimed to do more than just grow a business; we wanted to give a real boost to local tourism and community development. We have created a comfortable retreat where the food is ecologically clean, prepared entirely from natural, local products. It was vital for us that the guest house ‘speaks the language’ of organic agriculture. That is why we began implementing green solutions-from installing solar panels to become self-sufficient, to constructing a wastewater treatment plant with the support of ACBA Federation and NABU. Since we are located near a river, it was crucial that our operations do not harm the surrounding environment in any way," says Hayarpi Hakobyan, founder of Biography Guest House.
Hayarpi’s partnership with Acba Bank and NABU Armenia began in 2021. She previously participated in the Organic Agriculture Support Program, where she earned her certification as an organic honey producer, successfully introducing her products to international markets.
The ACBA Federation is the major shareholder of ACBA Bank, holding over 75% of its shares. Through this strategic position, the Federation actively contributes to the development of agriculture, the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises in rural areas, the development of communities, the revitalization of local economies, and the improvement of livelihoods for individuals engaged in entrepreneurial activities across Armenia’s rural communities.
